Design study of a nonlinear electromagnetic converter using magnetic spring

Abstract In this paper, an experimental and theoretical study for designing a nonlinear electromagnetic converter-based magnetic spring is performed. The governing equation of the converter investigated. A special focus given to force acting on moving magnet in dependence its volume geometry two fixed magnets, i.e., disc or ring. For developed analytical numerical model, same has been used all conducted investigations. Several parameters have studied that can be tune nonlinearity behavior. Further, coil axial position was investigated analytically experimentally. An energy harvesting prototype consisting oscillating cylindrical levitated between stationary magnets fabricated evaluated through experiments. open-circuit voltage obtained model compared experiment solutions harvester resonant frequency while maintaining output power density were proposed.
